Growing up in the small town of Jasper, Texas, I learned that every community has its own stories. Most are filled with kindness, faith, and hardworking people.
But every once in a while, something happens that reminds us we never truly know what goes on behind closed doors.

Those quiet observations became the foundation of the psychological thrillers I write today.

Why I Write Psychological Thrillers
People often ask why I'm drawn to psychological suspense instead of traditional crime fiction.
​
The answer isn't simple.
​
For years, I've worked in corrections and now in an Intermediate Sanction Facility, where I've met people from every imaginable walk of life. I've listened to their stories, witnessed the consequences of their choices, and found myself asking the same question over and over again:

Why?
​
Why does one person overcome unimaginable hardship while another is consumed by it?
​
Why do ordinary people sometimes make extraordinary—and devastating—choices?
​
Those questions have followed me far beyond my work. They became the foundation of my fiction.
​
I don't write about monsters hiding under the bed. I write about the wounds people carry, the secrets they bury, and the moments that change the course of a life forever. My stories explore fear, guilt, love, betrayal, and the complicated truth that people are rarely as simple as they first appear.
​
My own view is that people are shaped by experiences—especially trauma that has never been understood or healed. That belief doesn't excuse harmful choices, but it does make me want to understand them. That curiosity is at the heart of every novel I write.

Because sometimes the most terrifying stories aren't about evil.
